Melody Hopkins
Melody (she/her) was attracted to healthcare, wellness, and working closely with people from a young age. Her early working life consisted of working as a nurse’s aid in a drug and alcohol treatment center and taking care of disabled persons in their homes. Witnessing the mental, emotional and physical pain others experience in life led Melody to become interested in the healing arts.
In 2001, while receiving acupuncture to treat migraines, Melody was introduced to the healing power of gua sha. Upon completion of a massage degree in Sarasota, Florida in 2002, Melody pursued continuing education in alternative medicine, and subsequently became licensed in esthetics.
Soon after relocating to Sonoma County in the winter of 2016, Melody enrolled in the Yoga Teacher Training in Sebastopol, where she was reintroduced to gua sha. As a massage practitioner and esthetician, Melody began to use the ancient tool on herself and others to help heal chronic injuries, increase overall circulation, smooth fine lines on the face, release stagnation and experience healing benefits on every level.
Melody also teaches Yin Yoga which brings flexibility to the tendons, ligaments and helps to smooth fascia. Her goal is to help others to soothe their nervous system, release chronic pain when possible and help others to feel more comfortable in their bodies.
